1. Fill the ice cube tray halfway with water.

2. Add a few drops of food coloring or washable paint to each section. Stir with the popsicle sticks.

3. Freeze for about an hour until it's semi-solid, then insert popsicle sticks in the center of each cube.

4. Freeze again until completely solid.

5. Pop out the ice paints, and let your child paint on the paper with them. Watch as they delight in the cooling sensation and the mix of colors!

6. Children often love to practice using their ice cube paints on a stand up easel- the bigger the canvas, the more room to explore!

Activity for 3-4-Year-Olds: Cool off with a DIY Mini Water Park

Transform your backyard into a mini water park for an afternoon of exhilarating fun.

Materials:

  • Kiddie pool
  • Sprinkler
  • Water balloons
  • Water-safe toys
  • Plastic cups
  • Bowls

Instructions:

1. Set up a kiddie pool and fill it with water. You do not need to fill the entire thing. ⅓ filled is plenty.

2. Position the sprinkler so that it sprays into or near the pool.

3. Fill water balloons and place them in a bucket. Always supervise children while they're playing with water balloons to avoid any potential choking hazards.

4. Add water-safe toys, plastic cups and bowls for added fun.

5. If you have an outdoor plastic slide, depending on the size of the pool, you can position the slide so that children slide into the water, simulating a water-park slide! Remember, safety first!
