The busy early weeks of the school year call for low-stress activities — and this one is just that, plus lots of fun.
Materials
- Aluminum foil
- Masking or painter’s tape
- Paint and paintbrushes
- Sheets of white paper
Instructions
- Tear off a sheet of foil and taping it to the surface of your table. Set your little up with cups of paint and paintbrushes nearby.
- Let your kiddo paint! They can use paintbrushes, or their hands — it’s time to get creative.
- Once they’re done, help them to press a sheet of white paper on to their foil painting. Now you’ve got their art in two places!
- Snap pictures of the process to save in your Qeepsake journal, and marvel together at how both the foil and the paper look in the end!
Halloween may feel like it’s far away, but now is the perfect time to brainstorm costumes. Here’s some ways to get started:
0-12 Month-Olds: The good news: you’re in charge! This is the last time your baby will have no input, so choose whatever you think is cutest (that will keep them warm).
12-24 Month-Olds: At this age, comfort is the name of the game. Pick an animal or character that your little likes, and find an easy-to-wear (and easy on and off!) costume version.
24+ Month-Olds: Start the conversation with your toddler by offering a few options. This will keep them from getting overwhelmed, and ensure they pick something that’s actually possible!
