A Back-to-School Craft to Get Everyone in the Spirit

This simple back-to-school craft will get everyone excited for the season and school year ahead.
The Scribble

‘Tis the season to talk up school at home — and to get kids excited about their newness-filled days. This simple school bus craft is just the thing.

Materials

  • Qeepsake Photo Cards
  • Blank ceramic tiles with cork (we like these)
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam brush

Instructions

  1. Make your paints by adding half glue and half shaving cream into two cups. Add your paint and mix until it has stiff peaks. You can always add more shaving cream if needed.
  2. Draw the outline of a bus on a piece of paper.
  3. Time to get the kids involved! Have your little paint the inside of the bus yellow, with black for the wheels and windows. Let dry overnight. The masterpiece will stay puffy for one day.
  4. A shot of your little hard at work is the perfect entry for your Qeepsake journal — when fall rolls around next year, you won’t believe how little they looked!

Quick — make the most of summer produce while it’s still around!

0-12 Month-Olds: If your baby is eating solids, offer them wedges of tomato to try.

12-24 Month-Olds: Bite-size pieces of peach just could become your new go-to snack!

24+ Month-Olds: It’s officially time for zucchini boats. Slice a zucchini lengthwise, hollow out the middle, and fill it up — raw and baked varieties will both be new favorites.
