Today’s activity requires minimum prep and provides kiddos maximum entertainment. In other words? It’s perfect for summer.
Materials
- A towel
- Two bins
- Water
- Dish soap
- Sponges
- Toys
Instructions
- Set up your play area. If you’re inside, lay your towel down on the ground first. Fill your bins about an inch deep — one with plain water, one with water and dish soap — and put them down on top of the towel.
- Encourage your littles to pick toys to wash! Pile them up next to the bins.
- Let the kiddos have fun washing their toys! Demonstrate with them or let them free play. When they’re all done, lay them out on the towel to dry.
- Pictures of your kiddo dutifully washing will make your heart swell when looking back in your Qeepsake Book!

12-24 Month-Olds: When you can, try to rest during your kiddo’s mid-day nap. You deserve a break, too!
