Handprint Fall Trees

Materials

  • Dry cereal
  • Brown paint
  • Glue
  • Paper (in fall colors)

Instructions

  1. Paint your child’s hand and arm with washable brown paint. Have them place their arm paint-side down on a piece of paper. This is your tree!
  2. Once the trees have dried, add glue all over the handprint.
  3. Set up bowls of dry cereal and let your little one layer it however they like to create the foliage.
  4. Save the before and after photos of painted arms to your Qeepsake journal to remember how fun this was!

Cooking with your kids can boost their confidence and get them excited about food. Here are some tips for helping them help you in the kitchen.

0-12 Month-Olds: Keep your baby nearby in a bouncer or high chair while you meal prep, and narrate what you’re doing as you work.

12-24 Month-Olds: Set your little up with safe tools like whisks, spatulas, and bowls, and let them “cook” their own meal while you make dinner.

24+ Month-Olds: Give your little simple, low-stakes tasks — like mashing up soft foods, stirring a batter, or pushing buttons on appliances. Look, they helped!
