Kite Making

  • Help your child cut out a kite shape from the construction paper.
  • Attach a straw across the top and bottom of the kite shape using tape, forming a cross.
  • Attach a string to the top of the kite and tie the other end to a handle or stick.
  • Decorate the kite with markers, stickers, or other craft supplies.
  • Head outdoors and let your child fly their homemade kite, feeling the wind lift it into the sky.

Wind Streamers

  • Cut long strips of colorful crepe paper or ribbons.
  • Tie them to a stick or dowel, leaving some loose ends to flutter in the wind.
  • Take the wind streamers outdoors and observe how the wind carries them.

Wind Sock

  • Decorate a long tube of paper or fabric with markers, paint, or other craft supplies.
  • Attach streamers or ribbons to the bottom end of the tube.
  • Hang the wind sock in an open area where the wind can catch it, such as a porch or tree branch.
