Get a head start on spring cleaning where it might be needed most — refresh your little’s play space and make room for new adventures!
Materials
- Storage bins or baskets
- Donation box
- Sticky notes & pens
- Damp cloth
Instructions
- Lay out your little’s toys and choose what to keep, donate, or recycle together. When deciding, it might be helpful to ask yourself (or your little!) the following:
- Does my child still play with this regularly?
- Is this still age-appropriate for my child?
- Does this work the way it should, or are there pieces missing?
- Does this have special memories or sentimental value attached? Would another child like this?
- Have your little help wipe down any toys to keep while you organize them into labeled bins for easy access. Store some toys away and swap them out monthly to keep playtime feeling fresh.
- Set aside any toys in a separate bin to donate. For special toys on their way to a new home, snap a photo for your Qeepsake journal and note its significance.
- Bonus Tip: If your child is unsure or hesitant, you can suggest a “thinking box” where undecided toys go for a few weeks. If they don’t ask for them, they’re ready to be donated!
