Tie-dye can be simple, fun, and for all ages! Try this easy craft to create summer decorations inspired by the colorful Fourth of July fireworks from earlier this week.
Materials
- Baby wipes
- Rubber bands
- Washable markers
- Paper towels
Instructions
- Pinch the center of a baby wipe and hold it in your hand, then twist it. Wrap three rubber bands around the wipe to create four little sections.
- Have your child color the sections with markers. Get as much color into the folds as they can!
- Remove the rubber bands and carefully unfold the wipes. Place them on top of paper towels to let them dry completely.
- Take pictures for your Qeepsake journal and make this an annual tradition!
Summer means SPF! Here are some tips for making it a simple part of your routine.
0-12 Month-Olds: Sunscreen is only safe after 6 months, so covering up is key in the early days. When you’re ready to start, go with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
12-24 Month-Olds: If you’ve got a wiggler, try applying sunscreen to their face while they’re strapped into their car seat.
24+ Month-Olds: To get your kiddo involved, pick a “sunscreen song” and play it every time you apply. It’s time to get in the (safe sun) groove!
